Bone Health in T1D - ages 18-25 with Type 1 Diabetes

About this study

Are you 18-25 years old and have type 1 diabetes? If so, you may be eligible for a research study assessing the effects of diabetes on bone health. Compensation provided.

What you’ll do

A single, in-person study visit (~2.5-3hrs) that will be conducted at Montefiore hospital and include a brief physical & health history, physical activity questionnaire, fasting blood draw, bone density scan, and an MRI of the lumbar spine and femur. Their Dexcom and pump will need to be off for the MRI (~26 min long), but they can wear a Dexcom for the DXA scan (30 min). Participants will receive the results of the blood work and bone density scan.
