About this study
Have you been diagnosed with Lewy Body Disease (Dementia with Lewy Bodies)? You may be eligible for a research study to determine how bioenergetic changes in the brain occur and contribute to progression of Lewy Body Dementia and other neurodegenerative diseases. This is a brain imaging research study using MRI and PET scans to look at a certain kind of brain activity. Compensation provided.
What you’ll do
Participants will have brain MRI and PET scans, provide blood and skin samples, and complete paper and pencil test, questionnaires and neurologic exam, over several visits at UPMC Presbyterian/Montefiore.

Are you 50 years of age or older? You may be able to participate in a brain imaging study. We want to look at how your environment changes the way your brain works as you age.
Are you African American and 55 or older? You may be eligible for a research study to learn more about how cardiovascular disease, sleep functions, and changes in the brain interact to cause changes in memory and thinking. Participation includes undergoing neuropsychological, sleep and cardiovascular assessments, brain imaging and collection of blood samples.
Are you 55+ and currently providing unpaid care to a loved one with a dementia diagnosis? You may be able to participate in a research study to better understand how stress, sleep, and activity might impact caregivers’ mood and brain health. To examine these patterns, participants may be assigned to receive one of two evidence-based programs that are designed to support caregivers.
